Principal's Message:

Defiance Junior High is a child-centered building with a student population of approximately 425 students in grades 7 & 8. We are organized utilizing the middle school concept and teacher teams. Each grade level is divided into two teams which allows that group of core teachers to get to know the students better. We also offer a team of intervention teachers who work with our special needs students. The Red team of teachers work with both grades in elective areas such as band, choir, art, industrial technology, health, computer, guidance, and physical education. High school credit opportunities exist for qualifying 8th grade students in foreign language and algebra. Our staff of 35 teachers works hard to meet the needs of our students and educate the whole child.
